About Keystone:
Keystone Child, Youth & Family Services is a dynamic, not-for-profit organization and the designated Lead Agency for Children’s Mental Health in Grey and Bruce Counties. Since 1974, we have been dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families by delivering compassionate, responsive mental health services.
At Keystone, we provide a full continuum of services, including counseling, prevention and well-being programs, short-term live-in treatment, crisis stabilization, youth justice services, and special needs programming. Our focus on coordinated access ensures that every child and youth aged 0-17 receives tailored, multi-disciplinary care to meet their unique needs.

Purpose and Scope:
Interested in how organizational policies, quality improvement, and compliance initiatives come together behind the scenes? This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the work that helps ensure our organization operates effectively, consistently, and in alignment with best practices.
We’re offering an 8-week full-time internship where you’ll contribute to policy development, review, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives across the organization. From researching legislative and accreditation requirements to coordinating policy updates, maintaining documentation, and supporting policy management systems, you'll play an important role in helping keep organizational policies accurate, accessible, and up to date.
You’ll gain practical experience working with policy development processes, compliance and quality improvement activities, organizational documentation, and stakeholder coordination. You'll also support special projects, policy implementation efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with a team committed to your learning and professional growth.
By the end of the summer, you’ll leave with valuable, resume-ready experience in policy administration, quality improvement, compliance support, and organizational operations, along with a deeper understanding of the systems and processes that support effective service delivery and organizational excellence!
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the development, review, implementation, and rollout of organizational policies, procedures, standards, and related documentation.
- Assist managers with drafting, formatting, proofreading, and standardizing policy documents.
- Conduct research and gather information related to legislative, regulatory, accreditation, compliance, and best practice requirements to support policy development and review.
- Assist with the implementation, administration, and rollout of PolicyTech and other policy management systems as required.
- Coordinate policy development activities between managers, program staff, and other stakeholders to support timely completion of policy initiatives.
- Schedule and support policy-related meetings, consultations, working groups, and training sessions, including preparation of materials and documentation of action items.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor policy action item trackers, timelines, and related documentation.
- Draft, edit, and update organizational manuals, procedures, forms, communications, and training materials.
- Maintain accurate records of policy revisions, approvals, implementation, and related documentation.
- Assist with data collection, record maintenance, and administrative activities that support quality improvement, compliance, accreditation, and evaluation initiatives.
- Provide support to the Director of Quality, Project Management and Evaluation, contributing to departmental priorities, special projects, and other responsibilities as required to support the objectives of the team and organization.
