Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
Lead the accounting department while ensuring the accuracy of financial records, reporting, and month-end and year-end close activities.
Financial Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards and organizational policies.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Partner with senior management to develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic business plans.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and internal control policies while coordinating external audits.
Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals by conducting performance reviews, coaching, and professional development planning.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, automate financial processes, and strengthen operational efficiency.
Business Partnership
Provide financial insights and recommendations that support business growth, profitability, and long-term planning.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
8 to 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 4 to 6 years in a management or senior leadership role overseeing accounting teams and financial operations.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A CPA designation is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, payroll, taxation, and enterprise accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.
Leadership
Demonstrated success leading accounting teams, managing multiple priorities, improving financial processes, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to senior management and business partners.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
Lead the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
Financial Reporting
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, management reports, and performance metrics while ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
