Full job description

ABOUT THE POSITION

Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for Quality Lead/Field Engineers to work at the Magino Gold Mine Project in Ontario. The successful candidates will work on a rotational schedule, based in a remote work camp environment.

Compensation dependent on experience; position includes comprehensive benefits package and rotational allowance.

SCOPE

Participate in the review of all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings and initiate appropriate corrective actions;
Review work in the field to ensure it conforms with project drawings, specifications, details and shop drawings;
Assist with take-offs for material procurement and field inventory of materials (i.e., Verify vendor shipped-vs-received) as per the project specification;
Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are implemented and adhered to throughout project execution;
Assist with the preparation of RFI’s to the consultants;
Assist with maintaining and updating project records including RFI’s, SI’s and as-builts;
Assist Superintendent with managing job quality;
Assist with completing daily reporting;
Work collaboratively with Project Manager, project team members, and field staff;
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports (e.g.: Concrete break results, compaction test results, project inspections, Owner and Maintenance Manuals);
Schedule and conduct QC inspections (e,g.: Concrete Pre-Pour Inspections, Rebar Inspections);
Prepare and submit project turnover documentation;

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 4 years of QA/QC experience in construction
Previous experience working on remote or industrial sites (mining or heavy civil projects) is preferred
Demonstrated experience with civil, structural, and/or mechanical construction quality control processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, reporting, and record-keeping systems
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and QA/QC software tools

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Nahanni is an open-shop Contractor that provides competitive pay and benefits. Compensation is dependent on experience. Nahanni pays for and books travel to and from the project site. In addition, employees are entitled to a rotational travel allowance.

SCHEDULE

12-hour shifts on a three (3) week on - two (2) week off rotation, rotation subject to change.
