Job Overview:
We’re hiring Asphalt Roller Operators to join our high-performing paving crew. You’ll operate vibratory and static rollers to meet our Black Tar quality standards, working closely with crew members to ensure smooth, compacted, and long-lasting surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate asphalt roller safely and efficiently on driveways, roads, and commercial parking lots
- Assist with raking, shoveling, tamping, and other manual tasks as needed
- Support the team by operating a skid steer or asphalt paver when required (training can be provided)
- Achieve proper compaction while maintaining surface smoothness and integrity
- Work collaboratively with the paving crew to meet daily production targets
- Follow project-specific quality control requirements and timelines
- Maintain equipment and perform basic inspections for optimal functionality
- Communicate clearly with foreman and crew throughout each job
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by management to support jobsite success
- Represent Black Tar positively with customers and the public
What It Takes:
- Minimum 2 years of asphalt roller operation experience
- Strong understanding of compaction techniques and asphalt behavior
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- A team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Good time management and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Commitment to quality and safety

Compensation & Benefits:

- Occasional weekends as needed
- 10–12 hour shifts
