Gamache Behaviour Consultant is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, receptive Behaviour Therapist to provide ABA therapy services in-home with families.

Our ideal applicant will be eager to learn about Applied Behaviour Analysis and have a background working with children and youth with autism or other developmental disorders.
Under the oversight of a Behaviour Analyst, our Instructor Therapists are responsible for delivering treatment programs, educating families about the strategies, and documenting the client’s progress.
This is a part-time position, with hours typically ranging from 2 to 30 hours per week. Most sessions take place in the late afternoon and early evening, although some daytime hours may be available depending on client needs and scheduling.
We serve Ottawa and the surrounding area so a drivers license and access to a vehicle is mandatory.
Required Qualifications:
- Vulnerable Sector Check (ESSENTIAL)
- High school diploma (ESSENTIAL)
- Diploma in a field related to behaviour science, behaviour analysis, or psychology (PREFERRED) (e.g., Autism and Behaviour Science, etc.)
- Undergraduate degree in a field related to behaviour science, behaviour analysis or psychology (PREFERRED)
- 1-2 years experience working in a setting that utilizes Applied Behaviour Analytic processes and strategies (PREFERRED)
- 1-2 years experience working with children and/or adults with autism or other developmental disabilities. (PREFERRED)
- 1-2 years experience working with children and/or adults with mental health or behaviour concerns (PREFERRED)
- Strong written and communication skills
- Bilingual (French and English) (ESSENTIAL)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (ESSENTIAL). Must be able to get to client's home to provide scheduled therapy sessions.
- Willingness to travel to multiple locations during the workday
Responsibilities:
· Provide 1:1 therapy in-home to children implementing the individualized treatment program under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA).
· Teaching skills in various domains such as communication, social, motor, play, language, daily living, developmental and academic.
· Collecting and documenting data and consistent, regular upkeep of client binders.
· Meet regularly with the RBA to provide updates and feedback on client progression and identify need for program development.
· Conduct assessments under the guidance of the RBA
Skills Required:
- Ability to tactfully communicate and discuss on-going progress, concerns, and sensitive situations with families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
- It can be a physically demanding position. Candidate will need to have the ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend over, squat and sit on floor to engage in therapy and play for extended periods of time.
An hourly wage ($23-30/hr.) based upon demonstrated skills, education, experience, and abilities.
Must be willing to get professional liability insurance if chosen candidate. (ESSENTIAL)
This is part-time position and hours of work may fluctuate as they are dependent on available caseloads.
