FORACO CANADA Ltd., an international drilling company serving the Canadian mineral exploration market, is currently accepting resumes for qualified Diamond Drillers to work in Labrador on a fly in, fly out basis. All accommodations and travel are provided.
Target Start Date and Duration: The positions are available immediately.
Wages: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour plus applicable Overtime.
Duties and Responsibilities: Drillers are responsible to safely operate specialized underground or Surface mechanical or electronic equipment, tools or instruments to provide services in conjunction with specific drilling projects. Some of the specific task will include but are not limited to the following:
- Direct rig crew in setting up rigs, perform drilling operations, completing or servicing;
- Responsible for ensuring daily pre-shift inspections are completed for all the equipment under their direction;
- Ensures daily toolbox/safety meetings are conducted and documented;
- Operate controls of drilling rig and/or support equipment;
- Train workers under their direction in job duties, safety procedures and company policies;
- Document and record status of drilling operations;
- Assemble and attach equipment, tools or recorders to drill stem or wireline to conduct required procedures and tests;
Valid Training Requirements:
- WHMIS 2015 - Working at Heights Training
- Isolation Theory Training - Valid First Aid and CPR
- Surface or Underground Diamond Drilling Common Core (or equivalent) - Crane/Rigging Training
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Driller on Surface or Underground core drill rigs.
Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Heavy Equipment and Construction Training
- Pre-Access Medical, Drug and Alcohol Testing
- Criminal Record Check
- Minimum Grade 10 diploma
