Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and reliable Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our Before and After School Program. The successful candidate will work with Kindergarten and School Age children in a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for children. This role involves planning and implementing educational activities, supporting children's developmental needs, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
Provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Observe and assess individual children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating effectively with parents and guardians.
Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with team members to plan daily routines, transitions, and special events.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation.
Uphold health and safety standards by following proper hygiene practices and safety protocols at all times.
Communicate clearly with children using effective language skills in English; bilingual abilities in French or other languages are considered an asset.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices and regulatory requirements.
Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.

Qualifications

Valid registration as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing.
Experience working with children in classroom settings; prior experience with kindergarten and school-age programs is preferred.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to work Split Shift
