Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant kitchen and expeditor station. The Expeditor Supervisor works closely with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure that patrons receive their meals in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Hourly Wage: $20 - $25 per hour + gratuities
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring service teams provide passionate, attentive, and guest-focused food and beverage service at all times in a fast-paced family and group dining environment
- Ensure orders leave the kitchen in a timely and organized manner
- Monitor ticket times and coordinate food flow between kitchen and service staff
- Support kitchen leadership in maintaining portion control, food quality, and efficient food preparation
- Support other kitchen leadership to ensure portion control, food quality, order accuracy and efficient food preparation
- Ensure plates are clean and meals are presented according to company specifications and brand standards
- Occasionally run food to tables when required in order to maintain customer service
- Ensure sauces, garnishes, and the expo station remain stocked and organized throughout service
- Assist with supervising and supporting expeditor and kitchen team members during service
- Train and coach staff to ensure consistent performance and exceptional guest experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expeditor station and work area
- Demonstrate personal involvement to ensure the workplace is safe for guests and staff
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations (Public Health, Safety, Fire, WHMIS, etc.)
- Assist in resolving guest concerns in an efficient and courteous manner
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Commitment and passion for maximizing guest satisfaction at every stage of the guest experience
- Establishes immediate credibility with guests and staff – leads all staff by example
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to maintain professional composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills in order to determine cause, effect, and continuous improvement as it pertains to kitchens operations
- Ability to train and guide staff to ensure consistent service standards
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred
- 2+ years experience in an expeditor or similar kitchen coordination role required
- Post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field considered an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
