Lead the Financial Future of Two Growing Construction Companies
Silvergate Homes and Silverline Group are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team and lead the financial strategy for our growing family of construction companies.
Based in the Niagara Region, Silvergate Homes specializes in residential homebuilding and land development, while Silverline Group delivers earthworks, aggregates, concrete, and construction services across residential and ICI sectors.
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and wants to play a key role in shaping business growth, improving performance, and supporting long-term success.
Reporting directly to the President and Vice President, the CFO will oversee all aspects of financial operations across both companies, providing leadership to the Controllers, payroll, and accounting teams.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of our Executive Team, you will:
- Lead financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term business planning
- Oversee financial reporting including revenue, expenses, balance sheets, cash flow, and stakeholder reporting
- Provide insight into profitability, margins, cost management, and growth opportunities
- Develop and manage banking relationships, financing strategies, and lender partnerships
- Lead capital planning, including project evaluation, investment decisions, and ROI analysis
- Oversee insurance programs, employee benefits, pension plans, and financial risk management
- Strengthen internal controls, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to support executive decision-making
- Mentor and develop finance team members, including direct leadership of both Controllers
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (CPA/MBA considered an asset)
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including managing a team
- Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and business strategy
- Experience within construction, ICI contracting, land development, or homebuilding preferred
- Strong understanding of project costing, capital planning, and cash flow management
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- A strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
