ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

Muzychka & Company is a full-service professional accounting firm serving Central Alberta with a client base of owner managed small business enterprises in the agricultural, oil and gas services and other industries.

We are seeking a professional accounting technician with public practice experience. Preference will be given to a candidate with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or formal accounting education.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of working papers, financial statements and tax returns in accordance with firm standards (Compilations, Reviews, T2)
Preparation of T1 personal tax returns, GST Returns, T4 and T5 returns.
Bookkeeping and Payroll. Experience with AgriStability, AgriInvest and other agriculture based tax programs would be an asset.
Working both independently and in a team environment to assist individuals, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations with a wide range of tax, accounting/bookkeeping and compliance services.
Build effective working relationships with clients and co-workers.
Software competency in the following: Caseware, Profile, Quickbooks, Sage 50 and Microsoft Office. Experience with Doc.It file management system would also be an asset.
Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The position is permanent, full time with a requirement for a physical presence (with flexibility) in our Olds or Sundre office.
