Job Description - Night shift including Weekends - hours below
I am a C5 quadriplegic of many years. I am seeking a personal care attendant for a night shift position. The role is physical, administrative, domestic and organizational.
I require a significant amount of assistance in showering, range of motion exercises, dressing, transferring in and out of bed or wheelchair, transportation, shopping, meal preparation and other aspects of daily life. This is a private hire and you'll be working in my home.
It is a Part-time position with potential for extra hours. Weekends involve 12hr shifts - and are a required part of the schedule.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Personal Care
Transferring
- require the use of a manual pivot transfer whether into bed, commode, wheelchair or otherwise - no mechanical lift
- preferred technique will be taught
- my weight is approximately 130 pounds - this is required
- repositioning in bed
Range of Motion Exercises
- consists of leg manipulation, stretching predominately the Achilles’ heel
- approximately 35 minutes/day
Bowel and bladder care
- consists of a biweekly bowel routine
- handling of urinary bags and products
Transportation
- valid drivers license required
- will need to provide current drivers’ abstract upon request
- wheelchair accessible vehicle provided
Administrative
- banking
- shopping
- scheduling and attending appointments
- any and all other manner of tasks deemed appropriate to facilitate day-to-day living
Domestic
- laundry
- vacuuming
- sweeping/mopping floors
- other periodic tasks deemed appropriate
Travel
- both domestically and internationally - potentially for extended periods
- valid passport required
- expenses paid
Qualifications and Skills:
- Although not mandatory, experience and/or training in personal care may be beneficial.
- Ability to follow direction
- Work independently
- Reliable
Compensation and Hours
- night shift: 1030pm to 530am - Sunday to Thursday
- weekends - Friday and Saturday night 1030pm to 1030am
- $23/hr
- schedule is set out between 2 staff members on a rotating basis- every second weekend is required
- Potential for extra hours as well
