As a Pellet Mill Operator, you will play a key role in producing high-quality pelleted livestock feed while ensuring equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Operate and monitor pellet mill equipment to produce high-quality pelleted livestock feed.
- Set up, adjust, and monitor pellet mill equipment to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
- Monitor steam, temperature, moisture, and die performance to ensure optimal pellet quality.
- Inspect equipment and identify mechanical issues or abnormalities requiring attention.
- Receive and handle raw ingredients as required.
- Operate computerized automation systems used in feed production and ingredient receiving.
- Work collaboratively with other operators to maintain production efficiencies.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Follow all company safety, quality assurance, HACCP, and food safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Previous manufacturing or pellet mill experience is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of agriculture, livestock production, or the feed industry is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Comfortable using computerized production and automation systems.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven track record of reliability and dependability.
- Effective team player with strong communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, climbing stairs, and working in a manufacturing environment.
