Content Producer
Location: Ottawa, On-Site
Reports to: Head of Communications and Marketing
The role
We are looking for a skilled visual storyteller who can own the full production cycle — from concept to final cut. You shoot, you edit, and you know how to make something worth watching.
You will report to the Head of Communications and Marketing and work closely with our Creative Director.
This is a dynamic, end-to-end creative role. You conceptualize, you capture, and you deliver. You work independently, manage your own timelines, and bring a high standard of craft to everything that carries our name.
What you'll do
Develop concepts for video and photo content across platforms — social, web, campaigns, events, and executive communications.
Identify and develop compelling Dominion stories, transforming technical products, complex missions, and driven people into content that advances brand awareness, recruitment, and business objectives.
Shoot original footage and stills: field deployments, product showcases, team moments and executive-facing content.
Edit video and photo assets from raw capture to final delivery, optimized for each platform and use case.
Collaborate with the Creative Director to ensure all content aligns with brand standards, campaign objectives, and the evolving visual identity of the company.
Manage your own production timelines and asset libraries, keeping projects organized and on schedule.
Support live event coverage and produce recap content, as needed.
Stay current on platform best practices, emerging formats, and the tools that make great work possible.
What you bring
3 to 5 years of experience in video production, photography, or a combined content creator role.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities and a high degree of ownership.
A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end creative ownership — ideation through final cut.
Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent) and photo editing tools (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or equivalent).
Comfort behind a camera in both controlled and unpredictable environments.
A sharp eye for composition, pacing, and visual storytelling.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience producing content across formats: short-form social, long-form documentary or explainer, stills for editorial and campaigns.
Familiarity with AI tools and how to use them in creative workflows.
Motion graphics or animation experience is an asset.
A pull toward startup pace, and toward the mission. We build for Canada's defence and sovereignty, and we want people who care that it gets done.
No defence background required.
We've hired people who didn't tick every box. If this is the work you want to do, please apply anyway.
