Annis O’Sullivan Vollebekk Ltd. (AOV) is a privately-owned, independent, multi-disciplined firm based in Ottawa, Ontario. Founded in 1964, with offices in the Ottawa region. AOV is a professional land surveying firm offering clientele a wide range of services in topographic, hydrographic, cadastral, geodetic LiDAR, Photogrammetric and engineering surveys. AOV also provides a full range of land development consulting services, including severances, subdivision, and condominiums.

In addition to providing for a full range of land development consulting services, including severances, subdivision design & layouts, and condominiums projects, AOV also plays a key role in creating strata-ownership and easement limits for multi-use developments and the local LRT initiative.

Our employees come to work everyday doing something that they know really matters – they help ensure homes, condos and other new or existing construction are laid out in compliance with designs, drawings and municipal requirements.

We are actively hiring a Draftsperson who is creative and passionate about developing drawings. Help us move forward as we continue to be the leader in best practices within our industry!

Responsibilities:

Evaluate field data, formulate preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for various engineering and planning projects using information from field data and existing survey information
Draw diagrams, profiles, and plans using cross-sections and surveys to represent elevations, topographical contours and structures
Produce detailed and concise drawings and plans with technical accuracy under the direction of the Project Manager

Requirements:

Knowledge and Education

Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Geomatics, Engineering, Architectural or equivalent
Relevant work experience

Skills and Experience

5+ years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required
Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required
Experience using MicroSurvey is an asset
Experience working in land surveying is an asset
Ability to work as a team player
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to gather information required to be provided to the field staff on any given project
