Full job description

We are seeking experienced Use of Force Supervisors to lead security teams across our Ottawa-area operations. The Supervisor is accountable for the overall performance, conduct, and operational readiness of the security complement at their assigned facility. You will manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with post orders and client standards, handle escalated incidents, and act as the primary liaison between frontline staff and contract management. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong judgment, composure, and demonstrated experience managing security personnel in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily security operations and ensure all posts are staffed and performing to standard
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of assigned Security Guards and Lead Hands
Perform all guard duties including patrol, access control, and incident response as required
Apply Use of Force and arrest procedures in accordance with the Criminal Code when necessary
Manage unplanned absences and coordinate replacement coverage within required timeframes
Conduct briefings, post-incident debriefs, and ongoing on-site training
Review and approve incident reports and shift documentation
Act as the primary escalation point for security incidents, conflicts, and complaints
Liaise with client representatives for day-to-day operational matters
Ensure bilingual service delivery (English/French) requirements are consistently met
Enforce uniform, conduct, and equipment standards across the team
Oversee screening operations and ensure compliance with access control procedures
Maintain accurate staffing records, schedules, and operational logs
Support special events planning and emergency staffing coordination

Qualifications & Requirements

Valid Ontario Security Guard licence (PSISA)
Current Use of Force certification
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive security experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity
High school diploma required; post-secondary in Police Foundations, Law & Security, or related field is a strong asset
Valid Standard First Aid + CPR-C + AED + Naloxone certification
NVCI certification (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention)
Ability to obtain a Police Records Check, Judicial Matters
Ability to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status clearance
Bilingualism (English/French) strongly preferred; active offer in French required at minimum
AODA, Cultural Sensitivity, and Mental Health Awareness training
Smart Serve certification (asset)
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and CCTV systems
Familiarity with the Trespass to Property Act and Criminal Code s.494 Powers of Arrest
Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm in high-pressure situations

Pay: $24.11-$30.20 per hour
