About DART Aerospace
DART Aerospace designs and manufactures mission-critical equipment and certified solutions for the global helicopter and aerospace industry.
To support our continued production growth, we are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who is comfortable taking ownership of the complete machining process — from preparing raw material and setting up the machine through machining, deburring, and final inspection.
The Role
This is a hands-on, end-to-end CNC machining position.
Our machinists are not limited to loading parts or operating pre-set machines. You will be responsible for your own work from start to finish, typically producing small batches of approximately 10–30 parts.
You will work primarily with Mori Seiki, Haas and Matsuura CNC machines equipped with Fanuc controls.
What You’ll Do
- Cut and prepare your own raw material/blanks for machining.
- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning equipment.
- Work with Mori Seiki, Haas and Matsuura machines.
- Work with Fanuc CNC controls.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
- Read G-code and make required program, tooling and offset adjustments.
- Select and set cutting tools for machining operations.
- Run small-to-medium production batches, typically 10–30 parts.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling and setup issues.
- Deburr and finish your own machined components.
- Perform your own dimensional inspections using appropriate precision measuring equipment.
- Identify defects and correct machining issues before parts move to the next stage of production.
- Create or modify tooling, jigs and fixtures when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized workstation.
- Support production planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Previous hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Setup Machinist, or CNC Programmer/Machinist.
- Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machines.
- Experience with CNC milling and/or turning.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining specifications.
- Experience working with tight tolerances.
- Ability to inspect your own machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of CNC programming, G-code, tooling and offsets.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and setup problems.
- Comfortable working independently from setup through final inspection.
Strong Assets
- Experience with Mori Seiki, Haas and/or Matsuura machines.
- Experience with Fanuc controls.
- Experience with both CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Experience machining small production batches or high-mix/low-volume parts.
- Aerospace or other precision-manufacturing experience.
- Experience creating tooling, fixtures or jigs.
- Formal machining/CNC training or machinist certification.
What Success Looks Like
You can receive a work order and drawing, prepare the material, determine the appropriate setup, set up your machine and tooling, manufacture the required batch, make adjustments when necessary, deburr the components and verify that the finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
