Full job description

Staff Plus is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to support our client with manufacturing facility maintenance, equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules. You’ll work hands-on to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal for someone who’s mechanically inclined and values precision and safety.

Location: Hamilton, ON

Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Hours: Day shift - 7am to 3:30pm

What You'll Do:

Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve equipment failures as well as perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems.
Perform mechanical repair & maintenance activities throughout the plant on equipment and facilities.
Motors, hydraulics & pneumatic systems, bearings & gearboxes. Water heating and cooling systems. Reading blueprints and schematics. Equipment installations & rigging.
Welding & fabrication.
Utilize Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement to maximize equipment output and processes.
Execute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs to all production equipment, hydraulic systems and pumps in a timely manner.
Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, PM’s and updating the equipment databases.
Support divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, and waste Qualifications.
Exceptional mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Energetic and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and possesses a strong safety focus.
Available and flexible to work in a fast paced environment, be self-driven to meet or exceed targets and work a flexible schedule that includes planned, unplanned and on-call shifts.
Experience with electronics & PLCs. AC & DC motors and controls an asset. · Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) or equivalent trade certification highly preferred.
Experience in Welding is a must.
3+ years of work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Must be physically able to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
Willingness to work extended hours when and where required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position.
