House Manager / Nanny
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, caring, and highly organized House Manager / Nanny to provide exceptional care for our two-year-old daughter while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficiently run household. This role combines childcare with significant housekeeping and household management responsibilities. The successful candidate will take ownership of the daily upkeep of our home, ensuring that it remains clean, organized, stocked, and ready for family life while also providing attentive and loving care for our daughter. The ideal candidate is nurturing, detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining a beautiful and well-organized home. Must be comfortable with dogs.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Household Maintenance
Primary responsibility is maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and daily operation of the home.
Daily/Weekly/As needed responsibilities include:
- Vacuuming and mopping floors.
- Dusting furniture, shelves, and surfaces.
- Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Wiping counters, tables, appliances, and frequently touched surfaces.
- Emptying garbage and recycling bins.
- Making beds and tidying bedrooms.
- Maintaining a clutter-free and organized home environment.
- Cleaning and sanitizing toys, highchairs, play equipment, and children's items.
- Laundry, folding, ironing, and putting away clothing.
- Changing and laundering bed linens and towels.
- Maintaining organization of closets, storage rooms, pantry, mudroom, and household systems.
- Monitoring and replenishing household supplies.
- Organizing household spaces and implementing efficient storage systems.
- Managing seasonal organization projects and household decluttering.
- Ensuring the home is left clean, organized, and guest-ready at the end of each day.
Household Management
- Managing inventories of household supplies and children's necessities.
- Maintaining household checklists and ensuring routine tasks are completed.
- Coordinating with external service providers as required.
Childcare
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for a two-year-old child.
- Plan age-appropriate educational, creative, and outdoor activities.
- Encourage language development, independence, and positive behavior.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child.
- Manage naps, routines, and daily schedules.
- Accompany the child to activities, appointments, parks, and programs as required.
- Maintain a safe and engaging environment at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding activities, milestones, and any concerns.
Meal Preparation
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child.
- Assist with meal planning and family meal preparation.
- Batch cooking and food preparation as requested.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen throughout the day.
- Load and unload dishwasher.
- Keep pantry, refrigerator, and freezer organized.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a housekeeper, house manager, nanny, family assistant, or similar role.
- Strong housekeeping and home organization experience.
- Experience caring for toddlers and young children.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and identify tasks without direction.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional housekeeping experience.
- Experience working in private family residences.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) training or related experience.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Meal planning and healthy cooking experience.

Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Monday to Friday.
- Typical hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
