One of our clients is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day
construction activities for a major interior renovation project. This is a hands-on, site-based
leadership role responsible for supervising trades, maintaining safety, coordinating schedules,
and ensuring high-quality project execution within an occupied building.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, consultants,
subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and
on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Daily Oversight
Maintain a full-time presence on site during construction activities
Supervise subcontractors, trades, and daily site operations
Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Scheduling & Coordination
Prepare and update short-term construction schedules
Coordinate daily work sequencing and site logistics
Manage material deliveries and site access
Coordinate with vendors and project stakeholders as required
Health & Safety
Act as the on-site competent person and enforce all safety requirements
Conduct daily hazard assessments and toolbox talks
Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
Manage incident reporting and corrective actions
Documentation & Communication
Maintain daily site logs, safety records, and progress reports
Lead site meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager
Coordinate RFIs, site instructions, and consultant communications
Quality Control
Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project specifications
Identify and resolve trade coordination issues
Maintain current drawings and project documentation on site
Track and close deficiencies promptly
Closeout & Turnover
Support project inspections and substantial completion activities
Coordinate closeout documentation, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals
Ensure all project turnover requirements are completed
Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent or Site Coordinator on interior
renovation projects
Experience working in occupied institutional, commercial, or municipal facilities is
considered an asset
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building codes, and safety regulations
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with construction scheduling software is an asset
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
Pay: $40.00-$44.00 per hour
