Full job description

Position Overview

Gorilla Property Services is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician to join our growing team. This position involves the professional cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen exhaust systems in accordance with NFPA 96 and local fire regulations. Given the nature of this work — performed overnight in active commercial environments — candidates must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and self-sufficiency.

Employment Details

Classification: Labour
Status: Part-Time with opportunity to transition to Full-Time
Shifts: Evenings and overnights
Starting Wage: $23.00/hour
Transportation: Must have full license and reliable transportation

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and pressure washing of commercial kitchen hoods, exhaust systems, fans, and ductwork
Equipment setup and manual labour in commercial kitchen environments
Strict compliance with NFPA 96 standards and applicable local fire codes
Routine inspection and maintenance of company equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
Independent operation during overnight shifts in high-trust, client-sensitive environments
Professional communication with clients and on-site personnel as required
Ability to safely embark and disembark a ladder according to WCB standards.

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to regulatory compliance
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment without direct supervision
Effective communication skills and a professional demeanor when representing Gorilla Property Services on client sites
Collaborative team mindset

Preferred Experience

Pressure washing or exterior cleaning
Previous night shift or overnight work experience
Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments
