Full job description

Scope:

This position is under the direct supervision of the Youth Healing Lodge Program Manager and overall supervision of the Executive Director and/or designate. The Trauma Program Co-Facilitator is responsible to support the design, deliver and co-facilitate the Youth Trauma Program while contributing to the overall youth program design. This position will be responsible to support experiential group approaches that will address issues of metal, emotional, spiritual and physical wellness in a trauma informed perspective.

E) Other Duties

A) Facilitation

Co-Facilitate the Youth Trauma Program with the youth team.
Support related workshops, seminars, circles and activities as required

B) Program Planning and Design

Work with the Youth team to plan and design the Trauma Program along with contributing to the overall youth programming.
Incorporate the natural surroundings and traditional practices in the Youth Trauma Program.
Incorporate activities and experiential learning techniques to address the needs of youth who are experiencing trauma as a result of Residential Schools and other historic impacts in a well balanced, holistic model.
Support with program prep as necessary.

C) Program Team

Assist in the development of policies and procedures, evaluation methods, set goals and objectives and create work plans.
Expected to work cooperatively with all staff to support the youth team and assist with in-house training when necessary.

D) Aftercare Planning

Share in the responsibility for treatment and aftercare planning working with Enaahtig Case Managers, Intake Coordinator, and other staff to ensure smooth transitions.

E) Other Duties

Participate in debrief and internal meetings as required.
Ensure all medicine logs are completed as required.
Ensure medicine supply is available as needed.
Complete electronic case notes in EMHware database.
Act as a team lead within the Trauma Program.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

A diploma/degree in Social Work or related field.
Experience working with youth, Indigenous youth an asset.
Knowledge of Indigenous culture and current social issues as they affect Indigenous youth.
Must be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Must be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, NVCI and other trainings as required.
Be a role model in the community.

Salary & Benefits:

Base Salary $52,000 - $60,000 per annum
Additional 4% vacation pay on top of base salary
3-weeks paid sick and vacation time (accrued)
Health and Dental benefits at date of hire
GRRSP Program
