Job Summary

The Team
Penticton Community Corrections is an established, mid-sized team based in the heart of the South Okanagan, servicing the local community in person and supporting other areas of the province through virtual services. You will work alongside a supportive and professional group – including Local Manager, Senior Probation Officer, Probation Officers, and Office Manager – while collaborating with partners in like Courts, RCMP, and community agencies to help keep communities safe and support clients. The Role
Under the direction of an Office Manager of a community corrections office, this position provides confidential office support services, frontline reception services, data entry for electronic systems, maintains files and electronic records and provides financial support services. A portion of this position, 25% of the time, will provide virtual services to other offices in the Interior/Fraser Region.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Secondary school graduation or equivalent AND six months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

More than six months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role;
Completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration;
Experience working in an office setting providing services within the Justice System (Court Services, Correctional Centre, BC Prosecution Services, Youth Justice, legal office, justice focused non-profit).

Other Requirements:

Minimum keyboard speed of 30 words per minute.
Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions or an equivalent Canadian driver’s license. A valid BC Class 7 may be considered.

Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to one or more days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
