Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Church Administration and Communications Coordinator to join our vibrant community. This paid role is essential in managing the day-to-day administrative functions of the church while spearheading effective communication strategies that foster engagement and growth. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting spiritual and community development through organized administration and compelling messaging. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, enhancing outreach efforts, and strengthening connections within our congregation and beyond.

Responsibilities

Manage church office administration and maintain records and filing systems.
Prepare weekly bulletins, announcements, newsletters, and other communications.
Update the church website, email lists, and social media platforms.
Welcome visitors and respond to phone and email inquiries.
Maintain membership, pastoral, and event records.
Assist with financial administration, including deposits, donation records, payroll information, and coordination with the church's bookkeeping service.
Support church staff, volunteers, committees, and leadership teams.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with church policies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email platforms, websites, and social media.
Ability to create engaging digital content and communications.
Strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, the mission and values of The United Church of Canada.
