Full job description

Big Brothers Big Sisters KLH is a youth serving agency that focuses on providing programs for those age 6 to 16. We facilitate mentoring relationships in the community and local schools. Responsible to the Community Engagement Coordinator for functions in relation to marketing, social media, and fundraising events. 8 weeks, 35 hours a week, some evenings and weekends may be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Work in conjunction with the Community Engagement Co-ordinator on projects in both Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County. Including develop of marketing, social media campaigns, promotion, and planning of event/activity.
Take a leadership role in planning Big Brothers Big Sisters Day Celebration.
Create and assist with social media marketing across several platforms.
Create and assist with marketing materials.
Responsible for documenting camp activities (photo/video).
Assist as needed in summer programming.
Perform daily administrative tasks as needed
Student will be responsible for other local initiatives that arise throughout the summer
Works cooperatively with case manager, executive director, and the Board of Directors

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Qualifies for the Canada Summer Jobs Program through Service Canada
Pursuing an education in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, or Office Administration
Demonstrates high level verbal and written communication skills
Embodies, promotes, and models professional and ethical behaviour
Demonstrates initiative to work independently as well as in a team environment
Proficiency in Canva
Must possess reliable transportation.
Must be prepared to work some evenings and weekends if needed.
Comfortable working with children and youth.
Content creation will include being actively involved in summer programs
CPR certification a benefit

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $17.85 per hour
