Mechanic / Carpenter / Maintenance Tech | Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat

Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat is Ontario’s premiere glamping destination. We provide guests with elegant log-framed safari tents (king-size beds and soaker tubs included) as well as a private outdoor dining area. Amenities at the resort include The Watering Hole Guest Bar & Lounge, a lodge-inspired guest pavilion, saltwater pool, outdoor hot tub, barrel sauna, lawn games, beach volleyball, and more. We also host many large weddings, corporate events, yoga retreats and live music events.
We are looking for a Jack of All Trades to help service and maintain company vehicles, maintaining building mechanical and electrical systems, appliances, and assist with other maintenance duties as required (landscaping jobs may be included).
Job Summary
· Repairs and maintenance of company vehicles including golf carts, lawn mowers, tractors, construction machinery (excavator and skid steer), and pickup trucks
-Familiar with diagnosing and repairing appliances such as hot water heaters, fridges, freezers, ovens, etc...
-Service and repair of plumbing and electrical systems
-Carpentry and framing to help develop and maintain rental accommodations
· When the above tasks aren't required, this position may be asked to help out with our landscaping department or with other general labour tasks as they aris
Qualifications
· A proven background of mechanical experience and knowledge with automotive vehicles, landscaping equipment, and construction machinery
· Experience with groundskeeping equipment including zero-turn mowers, weed eaters, and chainsaws
· Able to work effectively on a team as well as on their own
· Record of excellent customer service and communication
· Demonstrated organization and problem-solving skills
· Flexible work hours with high availability including weekends and holidays
· Preference will be given to candidates with experience in mechanics and the trades
Compensation
Position pays $20/hr and upward dependant on experience.
