Licensed Pest & Wildlife Technician – Peterborough Region
The Exterminators Inc. and Wildlife Shield are looking for a full-time Licensed Pest & Wildlife Technician to join our growing team.
This position services Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Durham Region, Northumberland County, and surrounding communities.

As a Licensed Pest & Wildlife Technician, you will inspect properties, identify pest and wildlife issues, perform pest control treatments, complete wildlife removals, carry out exclusion and wildlife-proofing work, and help customers protect their homes, cottages, businesses, and properties.
This is a hands-on position that combines pest control, wildlife removal, inspection, customer service, and minor repair work. Every day is different. One day you may be solving a mouse infestation in a cottage, the next removing squirrels from an attic, performing a commercial pest inspection, wildlife-proofing a home, or helping a customer solve a long-standing rodent problem.
General Duties
- Perform interior and exterior inspections of residential and commercial properties
- Identify pest activity, wildlife entry points, and conditions contributing to infestations
- Prepare and apply pest control treatments according to Ontario regulations and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) standards
- Humanely remove wildlife using approved methods and equipment
- Install one-way doors and exclusion devices
- Perform wildlife-proofing and minor repair work
- Seal animal entry points and vulnerable areas
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and treatment plans to customers
- Complete service reports and inspection documentation
- Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and supplies
Requirements
- Structural Exterminator Licence (Required)
- Valid G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of climbing ladders, carrying equipment, working in attics, crawlspaces, and other confined spaces
- Willingness to travel throughout Peterborough, Durham Region, Northumberland County, Kawartha Lakes, and surrounding service areas
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in wildlife removal
- Experience in pest control
- Experience in construction, roofing, carpentry, property maintenance, landscaping, or related trades
- Working at Heights certification
- Experience performing minor repairs and exclusion work

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus monthly performance bonuses. Annual earnings typically range from $50,000 to $75,000+, depending on experience and performance. Income is directly tied to production, with opportunities for top-performing technicians to earn significantly more.
