Job Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanics (AME-M) is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling aircraft mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with Maxcraft policies and regulatory standards. This role requires technical expertise in engines, flight controls, hydraulics, and electrical systems and the ability to conduct inspections and troubleshoot. The AME-M also supports documentation processes, guides junior technicians, and adheres to safety practices to maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform comprehensive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of aircraft mechanical systems, including engines, landing gear, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting on systems like air conditioning, avionics, and pneumatics, and perform independent checks on critical systems (e.g., flight controls, engine controls, flight surfaces, etc.).
- Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and specifications to determine repair methods and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Fabricate, install, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural components, conducting operational tests and sourcing appropriate tools as needed.
- Ensure all work is done in line with Transport Canada Regulations (CARs) and Maxcraft quality, safety, and human resources policies.
- Complete daily inspections and aircraft servicing, ensuring proper documentation and accurate reporting.
- Provide mentorship to junior technicians, fostering their skill development and maintaining a collaborative, efficient work environment.
- Operate ground support equipment, tow aircraft, and ensure safe handling practices with all equipment and tools.
- Complete ERP processes accurately, resolve logbook snags, and ensure maintenance records are submitted promptly.

Qualifications
- Transport Canada AME (Mechanical) License with at least 2 years of experience on GA (under 12,500 lbs) aircraft. Preference is given to candidates with experience on the following airframes:
- Beech King Air series.
- Cessna 208 Series
- DeHavilland Turbo Otter
- Piper PA-46 Series.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to train apprentices.
