Job Title: Line Cook (with bread making experience)

Location: Sarnia, ON, In-person position

Job Description: Hi-Way Bowl is currently looking to hire a Line Cook immediately to join our team. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment that requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to stay organized during service.

This position includes significant prep work and portioning to ensure the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for busy service periods. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing food preparation, maintaining proper portioning standards, and food preparations throughout their shift.

You must also be comfortable working independently as the main kitchen staff member during your shift.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items in a timely manner
Follow all portioning, recipe, and presentation standards
Ensure all food is prepared and served at the proper temperature
Assist with prep tasks including chopping, portioning, labelling, and organizing ingredients

Kitchen Organization & Cleanliness

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the shift
Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing duties
Restock stations as needed

Inventory & Stock

Monitor food inventory levels and report shortages
Assist with stock rotation and proper food storage

Teamwork & Communication

Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Communicate clearly with kitchen leadership and team members

Compliance & Safety

Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
Use proper techniques to avoid cross-contamination

Position Details:

Day, evening, and closing shifts available

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 year of cooking experience (bread making and pizza-making experience strongly preferred)
Food Handler Certificate (Food Safe, SafeCheck, or equivalent) required
Strong time management and multitasking skills
Positive, professional attitude and ability to work under pressure
Able to work alone in a kitchen

Job Types: Full-time
Pay: $17.60
Expected Hours: 30 per week, Evenings
