Job Summary
The Alternate Care Worker plays a vital role in supporting children and families within the child welfare system. This position involves working closely with children, families, and community resources to promote safety, stability, and well-being. The Resource Worker provides guidance, advocacy, and support to help children with developmental disabilities, those involved in adoption processes, and families navigating child protective services. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and experienced in social work or childcare settings.

Responsibilities

Assist children and families involved in child protective services by providing emotional support and resource navigation.
Support children with developmental disabilities through tailored care plans and community engagement.
Facilitate communication between children, foster or adoptive families, and service providers to ensure needs are met effectively.
Coordinate services related to adoption processes, ensuring compliance with legal and agency requirements.
Maintain detailed case records, document progress, and prepare reports for supervisory review.
Advocate for children's needs within the child welfare system to promote safe and nurturing environments.
Collaborate with social workers, healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive support services.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in child welfare and childcare.

Experience

Prior experience working with children in social work, childcare, or related fields is preferred.
Knowledge of child protective services protocols, child welfare policies, and adoption procedures is highly desirable.
Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or special needs is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build trusting relationships.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families through dedicated support and resource coordination.
