The Warehouse Manager will provide leadership and manage a variety of general warehouse activities in an accurate, efficient, and cost-effective manner. We are seeking a distribution professional with experience in leading and managing full scope warehouse activities including but not limited to employee management and development, inventory control, vehicle and driver management, Health and Safety all in an accurate, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This person will manage staff, including warehouse personnel and drivers, as well as interface with other departments and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and proposes methods of sustained productivity increases
- Maximize the cube fill rate on the delivery vehicles and minimize delivery costs and increase driver productivity
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized warehouse
- Ensures safe working conditions including properly training employees on proper safety methods, assists Human Resources with the management of workers compensation claim
- Audits various paperwork and postings for accuracy and compliance with appropriate local, provincial and federal laws, statutes and company policies
- Responsible for the proper collection, dispersal and retention of drivers logs, fuel tax reports, accident files and registers
- Effectively counsel and manage employees on attendance, performance and/or misconduct
- Manage the AS400 system for the purpose of measuring the pick accuracy and performance of employees (cycle count, bin walk, etc)
- Responsible for managing the maintenance and repairs of all warehouse-related equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Three to five years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal OHSA safety regulations
- Knowledge of location, provincial and federal DOT transportation regulations
- Experience in forklift certification and inspection, hazmat certification, operating various warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (occasionally between 60-75 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation for an entire shift
- Must be able to work regularly at a height of up to 26 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training)
- Must have strong leadership and organizations skills
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule with a "hands-on" management style
