Full job description

Responsibilities:

-Keep Language Matters informed on preferred working hours and number of clients (can grow caseload gradually)

-Arrange & manage your own booking schedule

- Assess speech, language, literacy, & communication disorders in children (0-18), providing appropriate recommendations (areas treated are negotiable)

- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients and families

- Provide consultation, inter-professional collaboration, parent training as needed

- Monitor, evaluate and chart patient progress (through "Jane" software) and adjust treatment plans as necessary

-Manage your active client files ensuring adherence to CASLPO guidelines on patient records

-Invoice and provide receipts to families through online system "Jane"

-Optional additional paperwork may be required (reports as requested, home practice, etc.)

Experience:

- Experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist is an asset, however, new graduates are encouraged to apply. Mentorship is available

-Experience working in private practice or managing a caseload independently is an asset

Skills:

- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking abilities

- Proficiency in conducting assessments and providing evidence-based therapy interventions

- Knowledge of various speech therapy techniques and tools

Licensure/Certification:

- Registration (or initial certificate of registration) with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)

-Must have valid driver's licence, access to own vehicle. Travel area is negotiable

-Must have a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) less than two years old
