Job Overview

Are you eager to start your career in carpentry? We're looking for motivated and hardworking Apprentice Carpenters to join our growing team in Revelstoke, BC. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn from skilled carpenters on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

Assist with carpentry tasks including framing, finishing, and other carpentry-related duties
Learn and develop carpentry skills under the guidance of experienced professionals
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Follow all safety protocols and industry standards
Learn and apply skills in carpentry techniques and use of tools
Handle and transport materials as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the certified carpenter

Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and desire to pursue trade qualification
First year apprenticeship is preferred
Basic understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
Proficient in using manual and electrical equipment
Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
Good physical condition and endurance

Key Skills

Basic knowledge of woodworking and carpentry techniques to assist in the completion of projects and tasks.
Physical strength and stamina to assist with heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or kneeling.
Detail-oriented skills to accurately measure and cut wood pieces, ensuring a proper fit and finish in every project.
Ability to use carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively, under supervision, including power saws, chisels, drills, and others.
Problem-solving skills to help identify and rectify issues that may arise during the construction process.
Communication skills to understand instructions, ask questions when unsure, and effectively collaborate with team members.
Willingness to learn and adapt, showing initiative in mastering new carpentry techniques and practices.
Basic mathematical skills for calculating dimensions, estimating project materials, and interpreting blueprints.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
