Don-More Surveys & Engineering Ltd. (DMSE) is seeking an experienced Lead Land Development Engineer to join our growing engineering division in Saint John, New Brunswick.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing land development and municipal infrastructure projects, mentoring engineering staff, strengthening client relationships, and helping drive the continued growth of DMSE's engineering practice across Southern New Brunswick.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will work closely with our surveyors, planners, geomatics professionals, project managers, and clients to deliver practical, innovative, and timely solutions that support community growth and development.

DMSE is a leading provider of surveying, engineering, geomatics, planning, and land development consulting services throughout Southern New Brunswick. Based in Saint John, our multidisciplinary team supports private developers, municipalities, government agencies, utility providers, law firms, and landowners through every stage of the development process.
Our integrated approach combines surveying, planning, engineering, and project delivery under one roof, allowing us to provide efficient, practical solutions for projects of every scale.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership
- Lead the design and delivery of land development and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Oversee engineering design for:
- Site grading and earthworks
- Stormwater management systems
- Water distribution systems
- Sanitary sewer systems
- Roadway and transportation infrastructure
- Municipal servicing projects
- Review and approve engineering reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Ensure compliance with municipal standards, provincial regulations, and industry best practices.
Project Leadership
- Manage projects from concept planning through construction completion.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including survey, engineering, drafting, and planning staff.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, scope, and deliverables.
- Support contract administration and construction-phase services.
Client & Business Development
- Serve as a trusted advisor to developers, municipalities, and public-sector clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support proposal preparation, fee estimates, and business development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to expand DMSE's engineering services and client base.
Team Development
- Mentor and support junior engineers, technologists, and project staff.
- Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and eligibility to practice in New Brunswick.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
- Significant experience in land development and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Proven project management and leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of:
- Land development processes
- Municipal engineering standards
- Stormwater management design
- Site servicing design
- Construction administration
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Established relationships within the New Brunswick land development and municipal sectors.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modelling software.
- Experience with business development, proposal preparation, and client management.
