The work:
The Sawmills Division is seeking a reliable and motivated Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) for the Veneer Sawmill—someone who brings a positive attitude and values teamwork.
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and industrial machinery and equipment in a production environment
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, assembly, and preventive maintenance on machines
- Read and interpret technical plans to manufacture or modify equipment
- Monitor daily maintenance activities and respond to emergencies as needed
- Repair or replace components such as chains, belts, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and more
- Use power tools for welding, cutting, and other mechanical tasks
Qualifications
Your Qualifications:
- Education required: Diploma in Industrial Mechanics (Block 1 or higher), with training support available to pursue Red Seal certification
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Welding certification is an asset. If you're interested in pursuing certification, the company will support your training
- Any interest in further training will be assessed and supported by the company as needed
- Bilingualism is an asset, but not required
- Must meet JDI selection criteria
