About the Role
Reporting to the Community Manager, the Manager of Resident Experience (MRE) is responsible for the day-to-day resident experience, leasing, cleanliness, and presentation of two small residential buildings.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working directly with people and takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming, and well-run property.
You will be the primary on-site presence for the buildings. You’ll interact with current residents, meet prospective residents, show available suites, follow up on leads provided by our Marketing team, help rent vacant units, clean and prepare suites, maintain common areas, and address day-to-day property needs.
Because this is a small portfolio, your personal touch makes a visible difference. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable providing excellent customer service, selling a unit, and rolling up their sleeves to clean a vacant suite.
Priorities may change throughout the day, so the successful candidate must be flexible, organized, and comfortable switching between tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing & Sales
- Respond promptly and professionally to prospective resident inquiries received by phone, email, and in person.
- Follow up on leads provided by our Marketing team.
- Schedule and conduct tours of available suites and the property.
- Answer questions about suites, rent, amenities, policies, and the rental process.
- Confidently guide qualified prospects through the leasing process and work toward securing the rental.
- Help keep vacancies to a minimum by ensuring available suites are clean, presentable, and ready to show.
Resident Experience
- Serve as a friendly, professional, and approachable point of contact for residents.
- Respond to resident questions and concerns and resolve matters within the scope of the role.
- Build positive relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Provide new residents with keys and Welcome Packages and assist with questions about their suite and building.
- Maintain accurate resident notes and documentation in our property management software.
Cleaning & Property Presentation
This is a hands-on position and cleaning is an important part of the role.
- Thoroughly clean and maintain building lobbies, hallways, common areas, and other shared spaces.
- Clean vacant suites to a high standard so they are ready for prospective residents and new occupants.
- Pick up garbage and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property's exterior.
- Identify and report maintenance issues that could affect the appearance, safety, or resident experience.
Move-Outs & Turnover
- Provide residents with move-out instructions and submit Notices to Vacate to Head Office.
- Schedule and conduct Preliminary and Final Move-Out Inspections.
- Document cleaning, maintenance, and repair requirements.
- Communicate turnover requirements to the appropriate team members.
- Help ensure vacant suites are prepared and available for showing as quickly as possible.
Day-to-Day Property Operations
- Conduct regular inspections of the buildings and identify items requiring attention.
- Maintain accurate records, notes, photographs, and documentation in the property management system.
- Work closely with the Community Manager, Maintenance team, Marketing, and Head Office teams.
Experience & other requirements
- Excellent customer service and public interaction skills
- Ability to use and/or learn how to use new technology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy on documentation
- Demonstrated knowledge of Landlord and Tenant Act
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Time management skills
