Full job description

Con-Tech General Contractors is looking to add an experienced Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) Superintendent to lead field operations on steel building projects from site mobilization through to completion. This role is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, coordinating trades, enforcing safety compliance, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, on budget and with exceptional quality.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in pre-engineered steel structures, erection sequencing, and site leadership in industrial or commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities for pre-engineered building projects
Coordinate erection of structural steel systems including frames, girts, purlins, roofing and cladding
Manage subcontractors, crews, and equipment to maintain productivity and quality standards
Interpret drawings, specifications, and erection plans to ensure accurate execution
Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with project management
Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OH&S regulations
Conduct daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and site inspections
Liaise with engineers, inspectors, and clients to resolve field issues efficiently
Monitor material deliveries and ensure proper handling and installation
Maintain accurate site documentation including daily reports, progress tracking, and deficiencies

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in pre-engineered or structural steel construction
Strong knowledge of steel building systems
Proven experience in crane coordination, rigging, and steel erection sequencing
Solid understanding of construction drawings, layouts, and survey control
Experience working in industrial, commercial, or civil construction environments
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

Preferred Assets

Experience with large-span structures, warehouses, or industrial facilities
Knowledge of Saskatchewan OH&S regulations
Experience working around active facilities or tie-ins
Proficiency with digital reporting tools (Procore, Fieldwire, etc.)
