Mogano Jewelry is currently looking for a creative and driven Social Media Manager & Content Creator to own our entire social presence, based here in beautiful Kelowna. This role is the creative force behind everything Mogano puts out on Instagram and TikTok — from the very first idea all the way to the final post. The right individual for this role is genuinely creative, endlessly curious about what's working online, and excited to take a brand they believe in and grow it. This person loves being on camera, has real taste, and takes great pride in the work they put their name on. They're someone who thinks outside the box, brings us ideas nobody asked for, and sees the enormous opportunity sitting in front of a fast-growing Canadian jewelry brand.
Here's the bigger picture, and honestly the reason this role matters as much as it does. Right now about 20% of our revenue comes from online. We want that to be 80%. It's an ambitious goal, and social is the single biggest lever we have for getting there. You wouldn't be carrying that alone — but you'd be the person with the most influence over whether we pull it off.
The Social Media Manager & Content Creator role is a full-time role, working approximately 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role — you'll be with us in person for shoot days, and you're free to work from home for planning, editing, community and everything else. The compensation for this role is $60k, depending on your experience, plus a performance-based bonus of $9k a year when you hit your targets — and up to $12k if you beat them. Living in Kelowna is a MUST for this role, since shoot days happen in person with real product. You'll also need your own computer that can comfortably handle video editing — but don't worry, we provide the phone you'll be shooting on!
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Social Media Manager & Content Creator who has 2-3 years of experience creating short-form video content, ideally for a product or lifestyle brand. You are someone who genuinely loves the whole process — having the idea, setting up the shot, filming it, cutting it together, and watching how people respond. You don't need a creative brief handed to you, because you'd rather build the plan yourself. You have great instincts about what will work, and you're not precious when something doesn't — you learn from it and make the next one better.
You are comfortable being on camera and it doesn't feel like a chore. Jewelry is hands, ears, necks and styling, and the content that performs best for us is a real person holding something up and telling you why they love it. You don't need to be polished-influencer-level — natural, personable and willing to commit to the bit is exactly right. That person could be you!
You're someone who understands that social media is a brand, not a diary. Our stories aren't a livestream of our shop floor — they're styling ideas, new arrivals, close-up detail, and answering the questions people always ask us about metals, sizing and what won't irritate their skin. You know how to build a feed and a story strategy that actually feels like something.
You're curious about new creative tools, including AI. We use AI for image and video generation where it genuinely adds something, and we're always testing what's new. You don't need to be an expert — you need to be someone who gets excited about a new tool rather than nervous about it.
You also care about quality over volume. We would much rather post twelve pieces a month that we're genuinely proud of than twenty that were rushed. You know how to plan ahead, batch your work, and keep a content calendar running smoothly so nothing gets scrambled at the last minute. The Role and Responsibilities
The Social Media Manager & Content Creator role is all about building a social presence that's as good as our jewelry. Reporting directly to the Business Owner, this hands-on creative role will:
- Own the full content process for Instagram and TikTok — ideas, filming, editing, captions, publishing and community.
- Build and maintain a content calendar that runs approximately two weeks ahead, so we're always planned and never scrambling.
- Produce 12 to 16 short-form videos per month for Instagram and TikTok — roughly three to four per week.
- Of those, conceive and shoot four to six specifically for TikTok, and adapt the rest thoughtfully for each platform rather than cross-posting them as-is.
- Produce six to eight static or carousel posts per month.
- Repost our best-performing short-form video to YouTube Shorts, with titles and covers that suit the platform.
- Post Instagram and TikTok stories five days a week that reflect the Mogano brand — styling, new arrivals, product detail, education and community, planned as brand content rather than day-to-day store documentation.
- Build out a proper TikTok strategy from the ground up, including formats, posting rhythm and voice that are native to the platform.
- Appear on camera regularly as part of our content, including styling, product close-ups and talking to the camera.
- Create three to four native ad creatives per month for our paid social — built as ads from the start, hook-first, and made in variants so they can be tested against each other.
- Contribute to our goal of growing online sales from 20% to 80% of total revenue, through both organic content and the ad creative you make.
- Use AI creative tools where they genuinely help — we use them for image and video generation and we're always experimenting with what's new.
- Manage our community daily, including replying to comments and DMs and engaging with our clients and the wider jewelry community from the brand account.
- Plan and shoot content ahead of every product drop, launch and campaign so we're never building it the week of.
- Report monthly on how content performed, what worked, what didn't and what we're changing next month.
- Collaborate on a quarterly strategy session and one larger campaign shoot each quarter.
- Work closely with our Store Manager to coordinate access to product and space for shoot days, and with our email and design contractor to make sure social and email are telling the same story.
- Keep all raw footage and project files organized in our shared cloud storage so the whole team can access what they need.
- Be a proud representative and part of the face of the Mogano brand.
Education & Experience
- Must have 2-3 years of experience creating short-form video content, preferably for a product, retail or lifestyle brand.
- A portfolio of short-form video you personally shot AND edited. This can be from a brand account, your own account or a passion project — we genuinely don't care whose logo is on it, we care that you made it.
- Fluency with CapCut, Premiere Rush or a comparable editing tool, and a strong sense of pacing and timing.
- Must be comfortable and confident on camera.
- Demonstrated knowledge of what is currently working on Instagram and TikTok, and a real curiosity about where they're going next.
- Some experience with, or genuine curiosity about, AI creative tools for image and video generation.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to write captions that sound like a person rather than a brand.
- Exceptional organization and time management, with the ability to plan, batch and deliver consistently while working independently.
- The ability to read analytics and turn what you learn into better content.
- The willingness and ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and platforms.
- Experience with paid social creative, Meta Ads Manager or TikTok Ads Manager is a strong asset but not required.
- Photography experience, Lightroom, Shopify, Canva or TikTok Shop experience are all wonderful assets.
- A passion for creating and nurturing a positive, inclusive workplace and a culture of belonging.
- Must have at least a high school diploma and be a lifelong learner who deeply enjoys personal and professional growth.
- Experience with the Google suite of apps.
