EXPERIENCE

You have 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment, with proven success leading frontline teams.

You have experience working in a unionized setting, including grievance handling, conflict resolution, and application of collective agreements.

You have hands-on experience with production planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination to meet operational targets.

You have completed relevant leadership, supervisory, or management training, either through formal education or industry programs.

You have experience supporting or managing Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) programs, including compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, incident response, and workplace inspections.

You have experience maintaining and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety protocols, including audit readiness.

You’ve worked with cross-functional teams such as Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse to drive operational results.

Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to monitor production performance is considered an asset.

Experience with GMP, HACCP, and food safety audits is a strong asset.

NICE-TO-HAVE

Experience and/or education in lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma

THINGS YOU WILL DO…

Lead, coach, and support production team members to build a fully trained, safety- and quality-focused workforce that delivers consistent, high-standard products to customers.

Plan and organize daily production activities, set shift priorities, assign tasks, and ensure efficient execution of the production schedule.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, waste, downtime, and labour efficiency; prepare and communicate daily shift reports.

Manage people-related responsibilities, including attendance tracking, performance feedback, conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC safety regulations and the collective agreement.

Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure employee adherence through routine audits and coaching.

Apply HACCP principles, maintain compliance with GMPs, GWPs, and site-specific food safety and sanitation protocols.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., EHS, Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, Warehouse) to resolve issues and ensure smooth production flow.

Participate in incident investigations, hazard identification, and corrective actions to drive a proactive safety culture.

Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities, including process optimization, waste reduction, and employee engagement initiatives.

Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections and third-party audits by maintaining clean, organized, and compliant work areas.

Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings, weekends, or night shifts, may be required to support production needs, complete projects, or respond to operational issues.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Supervise production and warehouse operations within assigned areas to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, production targets, and efficient equipment operation.

Provide coaching, performance feedback, and on-the-job training to team members, fostering a fully qualified, safety- and quality-conscious workforce.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., EHS, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation) to set priorities and production sequences based on schedule and plant needs.

Lead and participate in daily management and shift handover meetings, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure accurate daily updates to production KPIs and shift reports.

Monitor and manage employee attendance, review and approve time sheets, and address absenteeism in accordance with company policy and the collective agreement.

Ensure all employees follow safe work procedures, conduct routine safety observations, and address any unsafe behaviours or conditions promptly.

Initiate and support corrective action processes to address performance or conduct issues, in line with progressive discipline policies and union protocols.

Develop, revise, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure consistent application across shifts.

Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure that products are produced on time, within specifications, and aligned with customer and regulatory expectations.

Ensure strict compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and internal quality systems.

Support internal and external audits by maintaining documentation, verifying records, and always ensuring audit readiness.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; enforce Good Warehousing Practices (GWPs) in applicable zones.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction, downtime tracking, root cause analysis, and employee engagement.

Ensure all activities and behaviours are consistent with company policies, labour agreements, and applicable provincial legislation.

Perform other related duties and assignments as required to support operations.
