Raise is currently hiring an Observability Engineer (Dynatrace and Splunk) on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Senior Observability Engineer Contractor is to join our client's Enterprise Monitoring team. In this fast-paced role, you will be a key driver in executing a major, high-visibility Event Management and Observability project. Partnering closely with internal teams and vendor Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), you will design, plan, implement, and optimize a next-generation monitoring solution. This is a highly collaborative role requiring seamless partnership across Data Analytics, Digital, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering to deliver holistic, enterprise-wide monitoring solutions.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Implementation: Partner with key stakeholders to design, architect, and implement robust monitoring solutions primarily focused on Dynatrace and Splunk.

Service Onboarding: Lead and accelerate the onboarding of critical enterprise services into the new observability platform.

Automation Strategy: Drive efficiency by designing and deploying automation strategies for infrastructure provisioning and monitoring configuration.

Strategic Alignment: Provide operational support and design recommendations that actively advance ’s 5-year Observability Maturity Roadmap.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate complex technical requirements into actionable project deliverables while working alongside diverse engineering and business teams.

Documentation: Create clear, high-quality technical documentation to ensure long-term operational success and seamless knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of administrator-level experience with Dynatrace, including hands-on implementation experience in complex environments managing greater than 2500 components.

3–5 years of strong automation experience utilizing Terraform and Ansible (ideally within a monitoring, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering context).

3–5 years of experience managing observability and monitoring frameworks in a complex, 24/7 mission-critical production environment.

Advanced Monitoring Capabilities: Demonstrated proficiency in:

Application Performance Monitoring (APM)

Synthetic Transactions

Business Process Monitoring

Service Map Design

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

Complementary Toolsets: Experience with Splunk, SolarWinds, Grafana, and Prometheus.

ITOM & ITSM: ServiceNow ITOM implementation experience, with a strong preference given to those who have built or managed Dynatrace-to-ServiceNow integrations.

Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with VMware, Azure IaaS, Azure PaaS, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

SRE Principles: Practical knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering practices.

Industry Context: Previous experience working within airlines or other highly regulated, mission-critical industries.

A bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is the standard benchmark.

Nice to have certifications: Dynatrace Certified Associate, Dynatrace Certified Professional, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Splunk Core Certified Power User or Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS - ITOM)
