Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Line Cook / Kitchen Lead to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will oversee meal preparation, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and lead kitchen operations to deliver high-quality dishes efficiently. The ideal candidate will have restaurant experience, strong food handling skills, and a commitment to excellence in the food industry.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
Lead kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service
Oversee food preparation, ensuring proper portioning, presentation, and consistency
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in compliance with health regulations
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or similar environment
Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards
Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
Excellent skills in meal preparation and culinary techniques
Familiarity with the food industry trends and best practices in kitchen management
Exceptional attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Professional appearance and positive attitude required
Year round employment for the right candidate
Experience with fryers, pizza preparation, food prep, high volume kitchen operations is considered a strong asset.
Punctuality reliability and strong work ethic are essential

South River Scoops ‘N’ More is fast growing family oriented restaurant and ice cream destination in the Almaguin Highlands operating year-round.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
