Full job description

Established in 1983, Haakon Mechanical Services is a trusted provider of HVAC and mechanical system service, maintenance, and renovations across Metro Vancouver and Whistler. We serve commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-unit residential clients, delivering transparent, high-quality service through lean principles, innovative solutions, and a team of highly skilled technicians committed to professionalism and continuous improvement.

Overview:

The Lead Installer leads the installation, start-up, and testing of commercial HVAC systems while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role collaborates with project teams, mentors apprentices and junior technicians, and provides exceptional customer service throughout each installation project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
Test and troubleshoot installed systems to identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions.
Collaborate with estimators, project coordinators, or managers to review project specifications and ensure understanding of installation requirements and timelines.
Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
Conduct equipment start-ups as per company standards.
Provide industry leading customer service while on site, ensuring to train operators and other applicable parties in the operation of the systems installed.
Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment needed for installation projects as required

Key Qualifications:

Valid Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Journeyperson certification is required.
Proven hands-on experience installing commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, and/or water-source heat pumps.
Valid Class B Gas Fitter certification is required.
Class B-R Refrigeration Field Safety Representative (FSR) certification is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to install, start up, and test, HVAC and ventilation systems to a high standard.

Class B Gas Fitter (preferred)
