What’s This Role All About?
We’re ramping up for a summer full of smiles, growth, and meaningful experiences—and we’re looking for ABA Instructor Therapists to join us on a 2-month contract to support our Summer Camp programming. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), support incredible kids, and have fun doing it!
What You’ll Do
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support to campers based on their individualized goals and needs.
- Implement behaviour intervention plans and skill-building programs developed by the supervising Clinical Supervisor/BCBA.
- Support campers in developing communication, social, play, self-help, and emotional regulation skills.
- Collect accurate data on client progress, behaviours, and participation throughout camp activities.
- Assist campers in transitioning between activities, locations, and daily routines.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies to promote engagement and reduce challenging behaviours.
- Facilitate social interactions and peer engagement during structured and unstructured activities.
- Support campers during community outings, field trips, outdoor activities, and recreational programming.
- Assist with personal care needs when required, including toileting support, feeding assistance, and hygiene routines, while maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment by monitoring camper behaviour and responding appropriately to safety concerns.
- Collaborate with camp staff, supervisors, and families to ensure consistent support and communication.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings as required.
- Complete daily session notes, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Follow all agency policies, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Actively participate in camp activities, games, crafts, swimming, sports, and outdoor programming to support camper inclusion and engagement.
What We’re Looking For
Passion for working with children and youth with autism
ABA experience (even better if you’ve worked at a camp or in a fun learning setting!)
Strong communication & teamwork skills
Organized, flexible, and fun to be around
Able to take feedback and always ready to learn
What You Bring
Diploma/Certificate in Autism & Behavioural Sciences or RBT (preferred)
6 months to 1 year experience in ABA (bonus points!)
First Aid & CPR (required)
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
Crisis management, PECS, or curriculum assessment experience = extra sparkle!
