About the Role – How you will Contribute to the Service:
We are seeking an IT Operations Analyst to join our growing Information Technology team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive technical support for the hardware, communications systems, and software used across the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS). You will also serve as a key technical resource, contributing to the installation, maintenance, security, and upgrade of critical IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintains day-to-day infrastructure operations and ensures that capacity, availability and stability are sustained.
- Monitors node performance and assists with optimizing infrastructure health.
- Creates alerts and reports related to node performance monitoring and health.
- Assists in the defining, designing, implementing and testing of new or enhanced infrastructure solutions.
- Participates in information gathering, user interviews, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detailed systems design.
- Identifies trends, events and evaluates new solutions to improve infrastructure performance.
- Obtains quotes for new infrastructure related equipment or software.
- Installs, configures and applies updates to network, server and end-user device related equipment.
- Monitors data protection backup jobs and conducts related administration tasks.
- Prepares schematics, tables, and topology diagrams required in problem analysis.
- Provides documentation for infrastructure decisions and configurations.
- Provides technical advice on new or revised systems.
- Prepares operations transition documents in support of tiered support methodologies.
- Prepares operating procedures and provides extended level 2 support for escalated issues.
- Troubleshoots and assists other peers in diagnosing infrastructure and end-user compute issues.
- Researches and applies software updates to various infrastructure systems and end-user compute and environments.
- Prepares and deploys operating and application system updates to end-user compute devices.
- Engages with vendors to troubleshoot infrastructure components and facilitate repairs and replacement of those components.
What you’ll Bring to the Role:
Education, Certifications and Qualifications: Community college diploma in computer science or another related field required (e.g., Computer Systems Technician).
Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
A minimum of two years’ experience in system operations, with responsibility for maintaining daily infrastructure activities to ensure the ongoing capacity, availability, and stability of all technology environments. Demonstrated interest in performance monitoring, including tracking node health, generating alerts and reports, and contributing to the definition, design, implementation, and testing of new or enhanced infrastructure solutions.
Preferred experience includes participating in requirements gathering, conducting user interviews, performing systems analysis, engaging with vendors, and supporting detailed systems design. Skilled in identifying operational trends, evaluating emerging technologies, obtaining quotes for infrastructure hardware and software, and installing, configuring, and updating network, server, and end‑user device components.

This position is based at our Oakville headquarters, located at the QEW and North Service Road West. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered upon successful completion of the 12-month probationary period.
Salary Range: $89,540 to $99,490 per annum (Effective July 1, 2026)
