Job Summary:
The Plant Administrator ensures smooth daily operations of the sugar refinery by coordinating production activities, managing staffing logistics, maintaining operational records, and supporting the Plant Manager in achieving efficiency and compliance targets. This role acts as the central point for operational coordination across all plant departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Coordination
- Coordinate daily production schedules with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Ensure timely availability of manpower for all shifts and operational units.
- Monitor workflow to prevent operational bottlenecks and downtime.
- Maintain daily operational logs, reports, and records for production, maintenance, and utilities.
2. Shift Management
- Plan and manage staffing allocations across shifts.
- Coordinate with supervisors to address manpower shortages or redeployments.
3. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure plant operations adhere to all safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices across shifts.
- Conduct regular inspections and safety checks of operational areas.
- Coordinate with the Safety Officer or Plant Manager to address hazards, near-misses, or incidents.
- Assist in implementing safety improvement initiatives and employee safety training programs.
- Ensure proper documentation of all safety incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
4. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit daily production reports, shift handovers, and operational summaries to the Plant Manager.
- Maintain records of downtime, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing reports for management meetings and operational review sessions.
5. Continuous Operational Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in plant operations.
- Propose solutions to improve workflow, staffing efficiency, and productivity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in plant operations, preferably in sugar or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, plant equipment, and shift operations.

- Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced industrial environment.
