Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies across our organization with a particular focus on food safety and quality control programs such as HACCP. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining ethical practices, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of compliance. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with strong project management abilities and excellent communication skills. The Compliance Manager will collaborate with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs that support our business objectives and uphold industry standards.
Key Qualifications
· 1-5 years of experience in food safety and quality compliance under provincial and federal legislation.
· 1-3 years of HACCP coordination and compliance management.
· Excellent understanding of common computer applications used within the industry such as Outlook, Excel, SAP etc.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures aligned with industry regulations and company goals.
· Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
· Lead investigations into compliance issues, ensuring thorough documentation and appropriate resolution.
· Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance requirements, fostering awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
· Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
· Collaborate with business development teams to identify opportunities for process improvement that enhance compliance efficiency.
· Supervise a team of compliance supervisors or specialists, providing leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
· Manage projects related to compliance initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget parameters.
· Support senior management in strategic planning related to risk management and regulatory adherence.
· Work with senior management and third-party consultants to launch and run HACCP, RWA and other food safety and quality compliance programs.
· Head the JHSC and be in compliance with all MOL regulations.
· Steer company efforts to be above and beyond compliance with CFIA, OMAFA, MOL, MOE etc.
· Act as primary management contact for HACCP coordination efforts within plant operations.
· Manage all related paperwork to compliance programs with a particular focus on HACCP.
Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
