Maine Group – Event Management Inc. is looking for a part-time Personal Assistant to provide practical, day-to-day support across a busy event business.
This role is for someone who enjoys being highly organised, staying one step ahead, and helping keep a lot of moving pieces under control. The right person will not just wait to be given tasks. They will notice what needs doing, follow up on loose ends, remember important details, and help make sure things do not get missed.
The position will involve a mix of administrative support, communication, scheduling, planning, online tasks, research, document preparation, and occasional hands-on support at events. You will help keep projects organised, prepare information, manage follow-ups, assist with guest and vendor coordination, support travel planning, update online systems, and generally help keep the business moving behind the scenes.
A good understanding of pop culture is very important, as our events are built around fandom, gaming, comics, film, television, collectibles, conventions, and fan communities. This role would suit someone who is naturally curious, quick to learn, and able to retain information across a wide range of subjects. An interest in event planning, coordination, and live entertainment would be a strong asset.
We are looking for someone reliable, tech-savvy, adaptable, and confident working independently. You should be comfortable with email, calendars, shared documents, online platforms, social media, e-commerce tools, and general digital admin. Strong written communication is important, as the role may involve drafting messages, responding to selected correspondence, and helping maintain clear communication with guests, vendors, partners, and suppliers.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can take ownership of tasks, ask sensible questions when needed, and follow through without constant direction. You should be comfortable with changing priorities, busy periods, and the occasional bit of organised chaos that comes with live events.
The role is based in Prince Edward Island and will be primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings. Flexibility to travel is important, including travel within Canada and internationally when required for events.
This is a temporary contract position, approximately 20 hours per week to start, with additional hours likely during busy event periods. There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Wellington, PE
