Primary Purpose: The Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst will play a crucial part in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive key business decisions. The role is responsible for data analysis using visualization tools like Power BI to create interactive dashboards and reports that provide clear and concise information to stakeholders across the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
Business Intelligence and Reporting
- Develop a solid understanding of the company’s business functions and the metrics that drive their performance
- Collaborate with management to drive Business Intelligence (BI) adoption and foster a data-driven culture across the organization
- Develop and maintain complex data models, reports, and dashboards using BI tools
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to answer business questions and seek data-based insights for improvement.
- Monitor data quality and resolve any issues in collaboration with data owners
- Take corrective action and recommend or implement changes to reporting, as required
- Integrate new systems and upgrades into function operations, as needed
- Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications
Data Acquisition and Preparation
- Gather, clean, and transform data from various sources (ERP databases, related APIs, spreadsheets, etc.) into a suitable format for analysis.
- Identify and address data quality issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Data Analysis and Modeling
- Conduct in-depth data analysis using statistical and analytical techniques.
- Perform data mining and predictive modeling to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Dashboard and Report Development
- Utilize best practices in data visualization to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Integrate data with other business applications and systems.
- Ability to work with large amounts of data and build platforms.
Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborate with business users to understand their data needs and requirements.
- Translate complex data into clear and concise business insights.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Training end-users on new queries, reports and dashboards.
Sales and Production Data
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual sales management reporting to stakeholders.
- Support the detailed development of the annual operating plan, sales forecasts, and strategic plans, while playing a key role in annual budget and strategic planning processes.
- Provide expertise on business processes and solutions.
- Support Production team to discuss variance analysis, material items, and key issues.
- Assist the Sales department with pricing review and margin analysis.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in data visualization skills such as Power BI.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques, an asset.
- Proficiency in SQL and other data query languages.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Epicor Kinetic, an asset.

- Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Work is performed at a desk in a comfortable office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, photocopier, telephone. Walking short distances and spending most of the time in front of a computer screen. Some climbing of stairs may be required. Moderate level of stress in terms of analyzing data, presenting, and meeting deadlines.
