Full job description

Harvan Manufacturing is a family owned and operated business in Woodstock, Ontario that specializes in custom machining and fabricating for many sectors such as defense and energy. We pride ourselves in our quality and workmanship. We are looking to hire an experienced CNC MACHINIST / APPRENTICE to help us keep growing. Harvan Manufacturing is a member of the Controlled Goods Program and therefore all candidates must be either a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada.

Responsibilities:

Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with blueprints, work closely with quality assurance to ensure parts meet all requirements
Knowledge of Solid Works, Mastercam and computer programming
Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
Adjust machine cutting paths or settings and offsets to optimize production while maintaining quality
Knowledge of tooling and fixturing required to set up and run new parts
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines and parts as they arise
Perform basic machine maintenance
Understanding of GD&T

Experience:

2-3 years machining experience
Experience running 5-axis machines a benefit
Comfortability with tight tolerances and precision high value parts
Previous machining experience working in a custom manufacturing setting is required
Must have strong attention to detail
Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential

Shifts:

day shift
afternoon shift (4 days per week)

Should have a positive and professional attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
