As a Quality Control Technician, you are one of the people who ensures that what we produce is safe, functional, and meets the high standards our customers count on. Working alongside our Quality Assurance team, you'll help verify that incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products all measure up — protecting both our food safety commitments and our reputation for quality. This is a hands-on role with real learning potential: you'll build practical knowledge of quality systems, food safety programs, and inspection methods through on-the-job training and guided experience. What You'll Do
- Conduct routine visual and manual inspections of incoming materials, production processes, and finished products against established specifications and standards.
- Monitor production activities to verify adherence to food safety programs — including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Global Food Safety Initiative — Safe Quality Food requirements — under the guidance of senior Quality Assurance staff.
- Perform functionality, physical, and quality checks on food packaging products using appropriate measurement and testing equipment.
- Identify and report quality deviations, non-conformances, and potential food safety concerns to the Quality Assurance Manager or designate, and assist with corrective actions as directed.
- Maintain accurate, organized records of inspections, test results, and quality documentation.
- Support the review and implementation of quality assurance procedures and programs as assigned.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
What We're Looking For
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Professional Engineering Year Interns, 1 year / 12 month co-op programs
- Post-secondary education in food science, quality assurance, manufacturing technology, or a related field is an asset.
Experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, food production, or quality control environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or the Global Food Safety Initiative — Safe Quality Food (SQF) frameworks is an asset.
- Experience using inspection or measurement tools and equipment is an asset.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and verbal direction.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Comfortable working in a production environment, including extended periods of standing and walking the floor.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated, with a genuine willingness to learn.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Production/manufacturing environment; personal protective equipment required.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment typical of a food packaging facility.
- Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift.

Additional information
Canadian experience is not required for the role, however, it is a requirement that the candidate is currently authorized to work in Canada. Permanent residency or Canadian citizenship is preferred.
The posted salary range is our best estimate for the role and may vary based on the incumbents experience, knowledge and skillset, related to the position.
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
