Practice Details:
The KBRH ICU group is currently recruiting for a part-time/full-time Critical Care position. We are a 7-bed unit that functions both as a full-service ICU as well as HAU/CCU. We are currently provide a week of coverage at a time, with two nights cross covered per week.
The successful applicant is expected to:
• Provide 24/7 coverage, evenly spaced throughout the year. During coverage, it is required to be in close proximity to the hospital at all times.
• Permanently relocate full-time to the West Kootenay region, to encourage participation in a regular cross coverage schedule and contribute to medical staff and community. Must reside within 30 minutes of KBRH while on ICU call.
• Teach medical students and residents during their ICU rotations.
• Participate in administrative work and quality improvement projects, to continuously improve the quality of our ICU.
• Potentially be able to provide additional services to the region, depending on their base specialty. There are currently openings in general internal medicine, and ED.
The West Kootenay region offers unparalleled outdoor recreation, including world class alpine and Nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and golf. The area has excellent public anglophone and francophone schools and a very friendly and welcoming community.
